Unlike our usual publications, Overcoming Evil with Good is neither historical nor theological; it deals neither with church history nor with doctrinal or theological matters.  Rather, this work is a lesson in applied theology. It is designed to instruct by example how Christians are to live their lives in this world. 

The benefit of this approach is that children, even relatively young children, can readily appreciate this mode of teaching and profit by its instruction. Children go through three phases; the grammar stage where they absorb facts (elementary school); the logic phase where they learn to reason with the facts (junior high); and the rhetoric phase where they learn to discus and defend the facts (high school).

This book is particularly suited to the logic phase, assisting students to reason out all the implications of that great summary of the second table of the law, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”
