Evolution and Marxism

THE PILGRIMS:
The Pilgrims were children of the Reformation. They were steeped in the word of God. They were committed to the word of God. They were not satisfied to take refuge in a few cardinal, fundamental doctrines, but rather they were committed to the defense of the "whole counsel of God." Furthermore, they were dedicated to the expression, in their lives and actions, of that counsel and were prepared to accept all the consequences of so doing in a wicked, sinful and apostate world. Although "they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth" and were searching for "a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God," yet with the Apostle Paul they were determined that the life which they lived in the flesh they would live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved them, and gave himself for them. They were not escapists taking refuge in their eternal salvation but rather were convicted to establish a God-fearing society, a very “Nation under God.”

THE NATURE OF HERESY: 
God has given to us by divine revelation the Scriptures which represent his full counsel to a sinful creation. That Bible is in its entirety the word of a perfect, wise, and eternally unchanging God and is to be accepted as such and believed from cover to cover. Although his ways are so much higher than our ways and his thoughts are so much higher than our thoughts, yet man has persistently sought to tamper with the word of God. Even Christians tend to take God's word and pigeon-hole it and categorize it till it is all subdivided into first class, second class, and third class truth. Men cannot divide the word of God into that which they will or will not accept, into that which they consider important or trivial, into that which they will or will not defend. There is no second class truth in the word of a perfect God and how can men discard as unworthy of their defense those divine truths given for their salvation. The word of God is a unity and any deviations there from are chinks in a Christian's armor. It was through such a crack, that an arrow released at random, but directed by a sovereign God struck Ahab in the joints of the harness and slew him. And so it is today, HERESY DAMNS SOULS! That is the nature of heresy, that is the purpose of heresy. Heresy is never accidental, nor is it ever a harmless deviation from the word of truth. Rather all heresy is cunningly conceived in hell by Satan the "Father of Lies" with the express intent of subverting souls and of establishing the Kingdom of Anti-Christ. In this issue I will demonstrate the disastrous results of the failure to defend the first chapter of Genesis. Evolution is another gospel far removed from the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Evolution is that gospel that establishes the Kingdom of Anti-Christ.

FAITH:
Scripture commends to us that "The just shall live by faith." Paul defined faith as ". . . the evidence of things not seen." Applying this to creation Paul continues, "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." Now without faith it is impossible to please God. God has ordained faith as the instrument of salvation. We are justified by faith even as Abraham whose faith was accounted to him as righteousness. Now God has opened his word, the word of life, with the creation account. God reveals himself as a God who spake and it was so, who brought the world into existence by the commands of his mouth in six literal, twenty-four hour days. God has placed this revelation at the opening of the scriptures as a test of faith, as a very stumbling block. We either believe it and proceed in his word from truth to truth till we are in him who is the Way, the Truth and the Life or we reject it and God in judgment closes the rest of the scriptures to us and we are blinded to the gospel of grace. The Bible opens and closes, the Bible stands or falls according to that first chapter of Genesis.

RESPONSIBILITY:  
The scriptures teach private property. What a man makes is his own. What God makes is also his own. He has made us and we are his private property. This is an inescapable conclusion of the doctrine of creation. God made us and he made us for his own purpose. God does all things for his own glory and we were created to serve, honor, and obey him. Man is religious and was created to worship. Man is a creature and is created under law; God's perfect law. For Christians this is doubly true. Not only are they God's by right of private property, but they are redeemed, bought with a price and belong to their Lord and Savior who purchased them with his shed blood. Man however has sought to deny the creation and escape the claims of God. Neither is man's sin a sin of ignorance. Paul declares expressly in Romans 1 that "they are without excuse," "Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them." And because it is so clearly manifested in the creation Paul declares that "the wrath of God" is upon those who suppress the truth in unrighteousness. Man in his perverse rebelliousness refuses to be bound by the law of God and seeks to be a law unto himself. 

EVOLUTION:  
Evolution is that doctrine that men grasp at to escape the logical consequences of belief in creation. Darwin's book, The Origin of the Species, was sold out to a waiting line the first day. The world was more than ready for a substitute gospel that would deliver them from the claims of God's just and righteous law.  Evolution says NO creation, NO God, NO meaning and NO purpose. Evolution says men are a biological accident of history. This is a complete negation of all responsibility. Evolution says that there is only chance, accident, and chaos. Evolution says that there is no beginning and no end. No beginning when man was created perfect in the image of God and accountable to him and no end when men shall stand before the judgment seat of the Lord Jesus Christ to give account of their deeds in the flesh. Creation says we were made in the image of God and should reflect his attributes. Evolution says we were made in the image of monkeys and can live like animals if we please. Creation says believe divine revelation by faith and evolution says exalt human science and human knowledge of which Paul says, "Professing themselves to be wise they became fools. And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things." The latter is a pretty specific condemnation of evolution and explodes the myth that evolution is somehow modern and scientific. Solomon said that there is no new thing under the sun. The doctrines of socialism, loudly heralded as the latest advances in evolutionary man's drive for utopia, are themselves as old as the hills and can be found in the scrap-heaps of former civilizations. Evolution is part of that ageless drive of Satan to separate man from his Creator. 

Creation says that man was created by an eternal unchanging God and placed under his eternal, absolute, and righteous law. Evolution recognizes no creator, no absolutes, and no unchanging eternal standards. In fact, evolution is incapable of distinguishing between right and wrong, between good and evil. Under evolution man is a law unto himself and free to do his own thing. Man has been emancipated from his creator and his law. Man has been emancipated from tradition and his forefathers, since each successive generation is one rung higher on the evolutionary ladder. Man is now completely rootless, existentialist and free to act according to his every whim and desire. God's law has been replaced with evolutionary law, and what kind of law has evolution given us if not "Situation Ethics" and "Civil Disobedience"! Both of these are perfectly consistent with evolution and indeed are corollaries of it. The former claims that there are no absolute standards and that as man evolves his law must evolve with him and he must be guided by each evolutionary situation as it arises. The latter also denies any absolutes and endows each man with the revolutionary right to be a law unto himself and to disregard all law that doesn't harmonize with his evolving will. Evolution starts with chaos and ends with anarchy.  

DEIFIED MAN: 
Having dethroned God, evolutionary man is now prepared to ascend the throne himself. As Paul puts it, "Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever." Man as the highest species of evolutionary advancement is now the logical candidate to rule the world. Scripture reveals that the universe is governed by an Almighty, Sovereign God, predestinating and controlling all things and working all things according to the counsel of his own will. If man is to replace and usurp the prerogatives of such a God he must also seek to arrogate to himself the attributes of such a God. The government erected by deified man will seek to parallel the government of God to the limit of man's finite capabilities. Thus, if God governs the whole world, deified man must also strive to establish world government. If God's eternal decrees govern every detail of the universe, then the decrees of man's state must be just as sweeping, total and complete. In short, rule by deified man means a one‑world Marxist totalitarian state. God, however, is a righteous, just and merciful God, and is worthy to rule and is deserving of our total loyalty, love, and obedience in all submission. Natural man in his sinful, unregenerate state is totally depraved and not fit to rule over his fellow men. When he does so he becomes a tyrant, enforcing his unjust decrees with terror and violence and extracting by any and all means the submission to himself that is due only to God. It has truly been said that "Man will either be ruled by God or man will be ruled by a dictator." America was founded as a nation under God and under God's law. Man's rule was severely limited, man's powers were diffused into separate branches and levels of government, and man's authority was bound down by the chains of the constitution. America fought a War of Independence for that principle and it should be noted that her defiance of the British crown was matched by her submission to God. Unfortunately, the spirit of George III seems to haunt the Potomac with a vengeance these days. Evolution has come to America and that revolution has swept away our foundations and left us exposed to the rule of deified man. 

MARX AND DARWIN:  
Charles Darwin is considered the father of the concept of biological evolution. His book was the departure point for all those who wanted to break away from the historic Christian faith with its doctrine of creation by a sovereign God. As we have mentioned the world was ready for a doctrine that would abolish the claims of God (and for all practical purposes God, too, so that the God is dead movement is not as recent as we think and Altizer is only burying the God who's existence Darwin had long denied), and would place man himself on the throne. Karl Marx was among those who were more than ready to joyfully and enthusiastically receive the new doctrine. So highly did Marx appreciate the doctrine of evolution that the communist Marx even dedicated an edition of his major work Das Kapital to of all people, the capitalist Darwin. Marx's praise was not in vain. He clearly saw that Darwin's doctrine was the foundation of communism. Darwin's "science" was the cornerstone of Marx's scientific socialism. Plainly put, the question reads, NO EVOLUTION = NO MARXISM!!! Although Marx was a liar and the truth was not in him, yet on this point he is unquestionably correct. Undeniably Marx's gratitude to Darwin was real. 

EVOLUTION:  
The Bible teaches catastrophism. Catastrophism teaches that things happen suddenly, often with great force and violence. From the events of the original creation when God said let there be light, and the events of Noah's flood, of the Tower of Babel, of Sodom and Gomorrah, and of the ten plagues in Egypt, right up to the vials of God's wrath described in the book of Revelation the Scriptures speak of a world governed by a God that can and does act suddenly and powerfully. Evolution speaks of events happening gradually, serenely, and quietly as change takes place over unnumbered millions of years. 

Evolution denies any external force especially in the form of a creating and a providential God. Rather it maintains that all change is due to a slow yet inexorable inward reaction to one's surroundings. In other words, God's eternal decree and his providence are disposed of and man's own reaction to his environment is now exalted as the source of all progress. Rather than the design of a wise Creator it was the fish's internal reaction to dry land that caused animals with legs to appear. To top off such patent nonsense Darwin even held that men grew bald because their ancestors wore hats too much! The adapting to the new surroundings of a little "chapeau" caused men to lose their need of hair, hence evolving to baldness. Darwin taught EVOLUTION. EVOLUTION depended totally upon ENVIRONMENT. God had been dethroned and ENVIRONMENT was now firmly in the saddle. Karl Marx was the one who went on to reap the logical consequences of that fact. 

SCIENTIFIC SOCIALISM:  
While Darwin continued to proclaim evolution and the masses hailed a new day of science with unlimited progress through evolution, a few more sober heads had some reservations. What if evolution wasn't progressive? What assurance did the human race have that evolution would always be progressive? Could man evolve back into cave men? Could men evolve into a race of freaks or Frankensteins? Like a drug trip that was wearing off mankind came back to the realities of life in a world under the curse and judgment of sin. After all, what had happened to the dinosaurs and the saber toothed tigers? Hadn't they evolved from almost nothing into highly developed species and where were they now? EXTINCT. Did evolution make mistakes? 

At this point Marx entered the picture to rescue the doctrine of evolution. Disposing of the vagaries of evolution by chance, Marx postulated SCIENTIFIC SOCIALISM. Marx took random evolution and produced SCIENTIFIC EVOLUTION. Marx seized on evolution and grasped it as a tool to establish a new world order. Through evolution Marx intended to establish a millennium of peace and prosperity, to regain the Paradise lost, not on God's terms but on man's. What Marx conceived of was controlled evolution. Creation had left men under rule and the power of a sovereign Creator. Under Darwin's scheme of evolution man was still under the yoke, this time as a helpless pawn in the hands of the eternal forces of nature. Man was still the product and the captive of his environment. Marx sought to change all that. In the garden of Eden Satan tempted Adam and Eve with the vision that they might "be as gods." Marx was obviously inspired by that same Satanic vision. If Darwin had deposed God, Marx intended to enthrone man. After all, why should man overthrow God only to be subjected to the blind impersonal forces of nature. Having rebelled against the "Creator of the ends of the earth" Marx now went on to establish man as his own creator. Man would now do the creating. Man would create himself, not in God's image this time, but according to his own image and more to his own liking. Having rejected the Kingdom of God and the new creation of Revelation 21 and 22, man would create his own kingdom, the Kingdom of man, the Kingdom of Anti-Christ. 

THE DICTATORSHIP OF THE PROL ETARIAT:  
The mechanics of Marx's scheme were brilliantly simple. Man evolves in response to his environment. The direction of this evolution, whether progressive or regressive depends on the environment. Man according to Marx, must seize control of this process of evolution by seizing control of the environment. If man can control evolution then he can be his own creator and evolve a perfect race of god-men inhabiting a perfect world. To seize control of the environment Marx postulated the "Dictatorship of the Proletariat." This dictatorship was necessary to rigidly control the environment and direct the paths of evolution according to the blueprint of the master planners. 

Marx assured us that this would only be temporary. Once perfection has been achieved the need for the "Dictatorship of the Proletariat" will cease and the state will wither away ushering in an eternal state of blissful anarchy, communal property and free-love. Obviously, Marx's Utopia was created in the image of sinful and unregenerate man. 

However, in the meantime, it still is the "DICTATORSHIP of the Proletariat." Marx insisted on the necessity of a total world-wide dictatorship, hence communism's call for WORLD REVOLUTION. The control of the environment must be totalitarian in detail and global in scope. As long as there was the least virus of capitalism, as long as there was the "salt" of Christianity to taint the environment, communism could never succeed. Hence communism's relentless destruction of the Christian church wherever it gains power. This is why Marxism must be totalitarian. Today the communists recognize only 'socialist' countries. Only when world revolution is an accomplished fact and the process of controlled evolution has run its blueprinted course will there be that state of pure communism that the Marxists dream of. 

Evolution always means dictatorship. First of all, because it seeks to replace a sovereign predestinating God and secondly, because it requires totalitarian control of the environment. This is why the USSR has its Five Year Plans, its secret Police, its censorship of all communication, its total regimentation. Behind the Iron Curtain is a totally controlled environment. Evolution has come to America too, and is taught in the same school system where the word of God has been outlawed. Clearly, the two cannot coexist, at least not in the schools. One can only marvel at those who try it in the churches. However, evolution is here and we are reaping the fruits thereof. CONTROL! Now we have the FCC, FDA, EPA, HEW, OEO, OEP, HUD,etc., etc. We have the Departments of Labor, Agriculture, Commerce, Transportation, etc., etc. We have "Wage and Price Controls," "Rationing" and "Land Use." CONTROL!! CONTROL!! CONTROL!!  

ANOTHER GOSPEL:  
Man has sinned. Man is in a world under the curse of sin. Man is suffering under the judgments of God in this life as he awaits his eternal judgment in the next. Man has a problem. The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is God's solution to that problem. It offers SALVATION on God's terms. Evolution is also a gospel, ANOTHER GOSPEL. It, too, offers to men a way of salvation. Christianity proclaims that men can become new creatures in Christ. The Bible holds forth the promise of the resurrection when we shall be raised incorruptible with our glorified immortal bodies. Christianity proclaims that the redeemed shall inhabit that NEW CREATION, the New Jerusalem. Evolution, the counterfeit gospel, pretends to hold out a similar hope. Controlled evolution will create a new race of perfect men. Scientific Socialism will create a new world order. Man can through evolution redeem himself from death, famine, war, racism, poverty, and disease. Redemption without the blood! Salvation without the Spirit! A Millennium without Christ! Truly ANOTHER GOSPEL!!    

Marx bragged openly of that state of pure communism which would produce the New Soviet Man, that race of perfect "communist" men that would evolve in response to totally controlled environment. But that control had to be perfect including even the control of the mind. The very environment of the mind must be controlled as by the "Thought Police" of a 1984. To accomplish this the Marxists under Lenin developed the principles of Pavlovian Brain-Washing, otherwise known as Psychopolitics. The "New Soviet Man" will be the brainwashed puppet of the New World Order! Salvation by BRAINWASHING! Salvation by WORLD REVOLUTION! Salvation by DICTATORSHIP! Truly ANOTHER GOSPEL!!   

THE ANTI-CHRIST:
Since the Garden of Eden as we have already noted men have wanted to be as gods. God may redeem fallen men but on his own terms. Redeemed man will still be man and God will still be God. Evolution scorns God's salvation and once more proffers the forbidden fruit that men shall be as gods. The product of evolution will be the perfect god-man the ANTI -CHRIST,the firstfruits of the GOSPEL OF EVOLUTION! Evolution not only ushers in the one world, Marxist totalitarian state, but also produces the ANTI-CH R IST of Revelation 13 who will rule over it. As we noted before, heresy is never harmless or accidental nor is it ever a sincere if erroneous departure from the truth. Clearly, the doctrine of evolution was conceived by Satan in the very pit of hell to usher in the Kingdom of Anti-Christ. Truly, it is ANOTHER GOSPEL, the gospel of HAIL SATAN!! 

HISTORY:  
Under Darwin evolution was conceived of as upward and progressive. Matter automatically ascended from one biological form to another and yet another higher form. The path of evolution lay ever upward. Under Marx, evolution continued to tread the upward path, onward to a socialist Utopia. The path of evolution was the path of paradise. However, the testimony of history makes short shrift of these pretensions. Evolution says that the world started in chaos and is progressing to paradise. The Bible teaches that the world started in paradise, Eden, the Garden of God, and is progressing to the Society of Anti-Christ and the sure judgments of God. In the scriptures the path of history is ever downward. From the fall into sin, to Cain the murderer, to the generation of Noah destroyed in the flood, the path of man's depravity is ever downward. From the Tower of Babel, to the apostasy of Israel, to the crucifixion of the Messiah, to the reign of Anti-Christ the rut of man's depravity grows ever deeper. The Bible finds perfection not in time but in eternity. The Bible finds perfection in Him who is, and who was, and who is to come, even the Lord Jesus Christ. 

EVANGELICAL COMPROMISE: 
Addressing the Galatian Christians Paul said, "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel." Paul finds this departure from the faith so incredible that he exclaims "O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you . . . ?" Today we might well marvel with the Apostle as to who hath bewitched so many of the "Evangelicals" that they should so easily be removed to another gospel. Weary of defending the faith in a hostile world, far too many have made their peace with the thrusts of evolution. The forms of compromise are many; the results consistently the same. All represent appeasement, if not virtual surrender, to the GOSPEL of ANTI-CHRIST. We have Scofield's "Gap Theory," an appeasement to the evolutionary age of the world in untold millions of years. Not only does this theory lack the least shred of scriptural warrant, but it finds a sovereign God changing his plans and altering his eternal decrees due to the actions of one of his creatures, Satan. The scriptures testify of Christ as "The Lamb slain from before the foundations of the world." God's purposes have never changed and history is still unfolding according to his prophecies and his unchanging will. Some seeking to flee the onslaught of evolutionary science take refuge in theories of apparent age. In other words, the earth was created with the physical evidence of an older age than is really the case. But in Romans 1 Paul affirms that the creation testifies of the Creator! How then can it bear testimony lending comfort to the evolutionist? Besides, would not that be tantamount to charging God of being guilty of deception? If God will hold all men accountable and without excuse because of the testimony of creation to himself that testimony is clear, pure, and undeniable. As for theories of "Theistic Evolution" that reduce God to a mere observer in his own creation rather than a God who spake and it was so, such theories are too absurd, contradictory, and logically and scripturally impossible to even seriously contemplate. EVOLUTION is ANOTHER GOSPEL and let all who love the Lord Jesus Christ depart from such iniquity!  

CONCLUSION:  
God's judgments on such abomination as represented by evolution are sure, swift, and terrible. In Romans 1 Paul says God gave them up to the most hideous forms of perversion and cursed them with a reprobate mind. In fact, the belief in evolution is in itself a judgment of God. In II Thessalonians 2:10-12 God pronounces his judgment on those who do not love, and do not believe the truth. God warns that he "shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie, that they might all be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." When men reject the obvious truth of creation then in his judgment God sends them the delusion, the lie of EVOLUTION! When men reject the true gospel, God gives them up to another gospel, the gospel of evolution.  

God has prepared a New Creation for those who love him. God has provided eternal salvation for those who walk according to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. God will regenerate the hearts and souls, and will resurrect and glorify the bodies of all his elect. God is still the Creator and he is still creating, re-creating men as new creatures in Christ. But none who deny the Creator, none who deny the initial creation will have any part in the New Creation. They shall be found in outer darkness, there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth, where the worm dieth not and the flame is not quenched. But the Lord's people shall inhabit that Holy City, the New Jerusalem, that city who's founder and maker is God.  AMEN.
